Building

In 1960, the Park Forest Pool was built and generously donated to the community by the developer Fox & Jacobs. For decades, it thrived as the social heart of our neighborhood, but over time, the pool fell into disrepair. Over the past 10 years the board and the community raised funds necessary to ultimately replace the pool, ensuring the property would continue to serve the Park Forest community.

In 2022, we began construction on a brand new, 35% larger pool thoughtfully designed to meet the needs of our growing community. Park Forest Pool was the first of the four community pools to undergo a complete rebuild, made possible largely through the generous support of our members. Today, Legacy tiles embedded in the pool walls proudly showcase the enduring commitment and contributions of our community, leaving a lasting mark for generations to come.

Living

Park Forest Pool continues to serve as the social hub of our community. The biggest addition to our events calendar came in 2024 when the pool hosted a community swim meet for the first time. The new larger pool provides us with 5 swim lanes for our Piranhas and has made hosting meets a new favorite of our families. The Piranhas swim team is a true reflection of community, giving kids a safe and enjoyable way to compete. For many, it’s the beginning of their Park Forest story, often leading them to become future coaches and lifeguards.

Since the new pool was built, it has proudly hosted a wide range of memorable community events—from long-standing traditions like the Fourth of July celebration and The White Party to newer favorites such as Latin Night, foam parties, and Adult Night. Each one brings our community together and adds to the spirit of Park Forest

Continuing

In the three years since opening the pool we’ve reached an all time high with membership. This growth is exciting but as each summer we are constantly reminded that we are in need of a facility that supports the rapid growth of our community and the constant needs of our members. It’s time to build a clubhouse.

The addition of a clubhouse on the Park Forest Pool grounds marks the single largest undertaking in our pool’s history. Guided by a dedicated project committee of more than 20 members who have generously donated their time, expertise, and energy, we are confident that now is the right moment to embark on the next phase of our long-term vision. Designed in a timeless mid-century modern style, this mixed-use indoor/outdoor space will open the door to countless possibilities—providing Park Forest Pool families with new opportunities to gather and celebrate year round.
