Park Forest Piranhas Swim Team
Welcome to the Park Forest Swim Team
The Park Forest Swim Team is more than just a swim team—it’s a summer tradition that brings our entire neighborhood together. Each season, swimmers ages 5 to 17 dive in with energy, excitement, and unstoppable team spirit, creating friendships and memories that last far beyond the pool.
We may be a small team, but our heart is big. From cheering on teammates at meets to celebrating every personal best, the Piranhas are built on community, encouragement, and a shared love of swimming.
Our talented coaches—many of whom grew up swimming right here on the team—bring both experience and a deep connection to the Piranhas, making them incredible mentors in and out of the water.
Powered by dedicated parent and community volunteers, our team thrives because of the people who show up, pitch in, and make it all happen. Whether your child is getting comfortable swimming or ready to race competitively, they’ll find a supportive, spirited place to belong with the Piranhas.
Small But Mighty
Don’t let our size fool you—the Piranhas are a competitive force in the pool! Our swimmers consistently rise to the challenge, racing with determination, confidence, and team pride while still keeping the season fun and supportive for everyone.
Last season, our team celebrated incredible success across multiple age groups, with swimmers earning All-Community High Point Awards, including:
· 6 & Under Male
· 7–8 Female
· 7–8 Male
· 9–10 Female
· 9–10 Male
· 13–14 Male
These achievements reflect the hard work of our swimmers, the dedication of our coaches, and the strength of our team culture. Whether chasing a ribbon, a personal best, or a championship title, every Piranha is encouraged to compete, improve, and celebrate each other along the way.
Who Can Join
Ready to be part of the Piranhas? We’d love to have you! To join the team, swimmers should:
· Be between the ages of 5 and 17
· Be a current member of the Park Forest Pool
· Be able to swim at least 5-10 yards unassisted
· Complete a brief swim assessment with our coaches
No prior swim team experience is needed—just a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and excitement to be part of a fun, supportive team! Whether your swimmer is just getting comfortable in the water or already gaining confidence, there’s a place for them here.
Our quick swim assessment is simply a way for our coaches to make sure each swimmer is ready to safely participate in practices and to help place them in the right group. Don’t worry—our coaches are fantastic with beginners and will guide and encourage every swimmer along the way.
For more details on assessments and what to expect, be sure to check out the “New Swimmers” information below.
